Welcome to the Marine web

The main project currently on this wiki provides listings of taxonomic skills and resources relating to marine invertebrates. This information is indexed by major taxon (Marine.Invertebrates.InvertebrataID) and (soon) by institution. Members of the marine invertebrate taxonomic community in Australia collaborate to ensure the information presented here is current. The initial impetus for these pages was provision of information to consultants working on surveys of introduced marine species in Australian ports. However the intent is that these pages will be useful to anyone seeking direction to appropriate taxonomic assistance with marine invertebrate sample processing and identification in Australia. A general introduction to that topic forms one of the resources on this wiki: Marine.Invertebrates.SamplingProcedures.

Collaboration on this wiki began in March 2009 and updates and replaces resources previously held at Australian Marine Invertebrate Taxonomists (AMIT) pages the old AMIT site [ was an interim solution and will be deleted during 2009].
